Is this steel weight calculator accurate?
Yes. The weights come from real steel weight charts and are fixed physical facts (a given size always weighs the same). We list weight in Kg per foot for sections and Kg per 8x4 sheet for plates and gauge sheets.
How is steel weight calculated?
For sections: weight = Kg/ft x length in feet x number of pieces. For sheets and plates: weight = Kg per sheet x number of sheets. This tool does it for you instantly.
Why does the calculator not show a price?
Weight is fixed, but steel rates change every day. So we show exact weight here and give you the honest, current rate on WhatsApp or a phone call - one fair price, no haggling.
Can I convert metre to feet?
